Odisha schools to reopen for classes 6th and 7th from today

Bhubaneswar: The schools in Odisha for classes 6th and 7th students will reopen from today following all the Covid protocols. School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash had informed the same on November 10.

Reportedly, the schools were cleaned and sanitized as a measure to prepare for the reopening. The students will arrive at school with their parents at 8.45 am along with an undertaking application. The physical classes will begin from 9.30 am till 1 pm.

Since the physical classes in school has not been made compulsory, online classes will simultaneously be held along with the classroom teaching.

A counselling session will be held for the children for the first two days keeping in view that the classroom teaching was halted for almost one and half years due to the Covid pandemic.

The physical classes will be held on all the days except on Sundays and government holidays, added reports.

Mass Education Minister had said that the classes will reopen in phases and a decision will be taken soon regarding reopening of schools for standard 1st to 5th. “It is expected that by New Year 2022 all the schools would have been reopened for kids,” he added.

The Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) will remain the same as it was listed during the reopening of other classes.

The offline classes for standard 8 had resumed on 25th October and for standard 11 on 21st October whereas the physical classes of 9 to 12 standard students were already being conducted in the State with strict adherence to Covid guidelines. Similarly, schools for class 10 and 12 students were also reopened in Odisha from July 26.
