Bhubaneswar: In a bid to enhance the digital skills of women in Odisha, the State Government has roped in social media giant Facebook to train around 25000 women entrepreneurs in the MSME and SHG sectors in a year.
In a meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary, MSME department LN Gupta, it was decided that the State would hold workshops in collaboration with Facebook on digital marketing skills. The workshops will be held at several places including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Berhampur, Angul, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Rayagada, Jeypore, Puri and Keonjhar.
The first workshop is scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar on August 10 in which around 800 women entrepreneurs are expected to participate.
Through the workshops, the women will be trained to grow their customer base and promote their products using the digital medium. Facebook and State Government will collaborate for the initiative till August 2018.
