Odisha reports remarkable rise in Covid cases today

Bhubaneswar:  A total of 549 Covid-19 positive cases including 70 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,39,818, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Wednesday.

Among the 549 positives, there are 318 quarantine cases and 231 local contact cases. However, 497 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,26,774. Hence, the number of active cases stands at 4,673.

Besides, the state pool has 67 new Covid positives.

Meanwhile, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,315 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 65 years old male of Angul District.

2. A 15 years old male of Keonjhar District.
