Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported another coronavirus positive case today, informed the Health and Family Welfare Department of the State government. With the new case, the COVID19 tally in the State climbed to 143.
According to the Health Department’s website the new case has been detected in Balasore district.
The Information & Public Relations Department, meanwhile, said that the new positive patient is a 58-year-old male. He is a Kolkata returnee and was asymptomatic.
Contact tracing and follow-up action is being done, it added.

With this new case, the number of COVID-19 cases in Balasore district now rose to 20.
The data shared by the department revealed that a total number of 2437 RT-PCR tests were conducted in the State in last 24 hours. The data shows that the cumulative tests stands now stands at 34133, while there are 101 active cases. As many as 41 persons have been recovered from the disease and one person have died due to the virus.
