Odisha reports 239 Covid cases including 37 children

Bhubaneswar: A total of 239 Covid-19 positive cases including 37 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,46,798 informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Saturday.

Among the 239 positives, 140 are quarantine cases and 99 are local contacts. However, 354 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,35,967. Currently, the active cases stands at 2387.

The details of local contacts will be shared by concerned district.

Besides the State Pool reported 29 Covid cases.

Meanwhile, as many as three COVID infected patients died in the last 24 hours, informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department on Saturday taking the death toll to 8,391. Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 86 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease & Dengue Fever.

2.A 76 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension & Diabetes Mellitus.
The department further stated that this list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

On the other hand, India reported 10,302 new cases in last 24 hours. As many as 11,787 recoveries and 267 deaths in the country.
