Odisha reports 228 Covid-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: A total of 228 Covid-19 positive cases including 32 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

This has taken the tally of Covid to 10,54,834 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday.

Among the 228 positives, 131 are quarantine cases and 97 are local contacts.

However, 151 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of recovered persons to 10,44,594. There are a total of 1727 active cases.

It is to be noted that the State currently has 14 cases of Omicron variant as per the reports of Director of Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar after five more cases of the new variant were detected on Thursday. Among the 14 Covid patients the first person has recovered and has been discharged.
