Odisha reports 195 Covid positive cases, 2 fatalities

Bhubaneswar: A total of 195 Covid-19 positive cases including 24 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,50,955 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Thursday.

Among the 195 positives, 115 are quarantine cases and 80 are local contacts. However, 264 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,40,403. There are a total of 2071 active cases.

Meanwhile, Odisha sees two Covid-19 deaths, informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department on Thursday taking the death toll to 8,428.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 70 years old Female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Old Cerebro Vascular Accident, Cholethiasis, Dyselectrolytemia.

2.A 86 years old Male of Kendrapara District who was also suffering from Benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The department further informed that the list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.
