Odisha reports 178 new Covid cases including 37 children, 2 succumb to virus

Bhubaneswar: Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department of Odisha government on Monday informed that 178 new COVID positive cases including 37 from 0-18 age group reported in the State in the last 24 hours.

The I & PR Department informed that 178 cases include 105 quarantine cases and 73 local contacts. With the detection of 178 new cases, the total positive cases rose to 10,51,752. There are a total of 1898 active cases.

On the other hand, Odisha reports two deaths due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1.A 65 years old Female of Baragarh District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease.

2.A 79 years old Female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Coronary Artey Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Old Cerebro Vascular Accident.

NOTE: This list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

The Union Health Department said that as many as 7,350 new positive cases and 202 death cases were reported across the country in the last 24 hours, informed the Health Department.
