Odisha registers 242 new Covid-19 cases, 42 minor infected

Bhubaneswar: A total of  262 Covid-19 positive cases including 42 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,45,471 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Sunday.

Among the 262 positives, 153 are quarantine cases and 109 are local contacts. However 309 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,34,300

There are a total of 2,741 active cases.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients after completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 34 years old Male of Dhenkanal District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

2. A 73 years old Male of Jagatsinghpur District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease & Hypothyroidism.

NOTE: This list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.
