Odisha records 81% more rainfall than normal in 24 hours, Yellow warning issued to 14 districts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 81% more rainfall than normal in 24 hours after the southwest monsoon touched Odisha. The Meteorological Department has informed that heavy rains are expected in the state for the next five days.

According to the weather reports, yellow warnings have been issued to 14 districts for today as heavy rainfall has been predicted in those places.

The 14 districts include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Khordha, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

Meanwhile, the special relief commissioner’s (SRC) office has asked the collectors to keep their administrative machinery ready to face any eventuality due to possible heavy rainfall. The collectors have been asked to submit rainfall data along with a damage report.
