Odisha: Rape Accused Escapes For The Third Time In Four Months

Nayagarh: An undertrial prisoner accused of rape, has escaped while being produced at a local court in the district this afternoon.

Sources said that the accused identified as Tapan Rout of Fatehgarh police limit area in the district managed to escape for the third time in the last four months.

Rout who was arrested on charges of rape of a minor girl jumped off moving court van while being taken to the court from Khandapada sub-jail.

Rout had also earlier run away from the jail on May 10 for the first time while he also managed to escape from custody on August 3 for the second time. He was again nabbed on the next day. Earlier two warders of the jail were suspended for the escape of Rout.
