Odisha: Puri Srimandira to remain closed for devotees on Saturdays, Sundays: Details

Puri: The famous Lord Jagannath temple of Puri in Odisha will be shut for devotees on each Saturdays and Sunday as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of Srimandira.

Odisha government yesterday issued the guideline for the month of September in the wake of Corona pandemic according to which the weekend shutdown was lifted from Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Hence, now visitors can travel to Puri, stay in lodges and hotels, can take bath in the sea and enjoy other services available in the holy town. However, the devotees will not be allowed into Srimandira for paying obeisance. Rather these two days will be used for the sanitization of the temple in the wake of Corona pandemic. This is as per the SOP of Srimandira.
