Odisha Primary school teacher under Vigilance scanner, property worth over Rs 4.73 crore seized

Rayagada: Acting on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets by Shisir Kumar Semeli, teacher of Kampar U.P. School under Kashipur Block of Rayagada district, Odisha Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids on Saturday.

According to reports, four teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSPs, 5 Inspectors and other staff conducted simultaneous raids at 6 places in Rayagada district on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Koraput at Jeypore.

During the search, the anti-corruption team reportedly seized his property worth over 4.73 crore including cash Rs 2.88 lakh, 2 triple storeyed buildings and 3 double-storeyed buildings at Doraguda, Rayagada, Bank deposits of Rs 21.68 lakh, 2 four-wheelers (Innova and Bolero), gold jewellery proximately 408 gms, silver jewellery around 229 gms detected during house search so far.

This apart, insurance deposits over Rs.2,83,342/- and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling over Rs 4.73 Crore have been unearthed during the house search so far.

Moreover, Vigilance Technical Wing is carrying out evaluation of the buildings of Semili and his family members.
