Puri: The world-famous Rath yatra will be conducted peacefully like the Snana yatra. A meeting was conducted by the Police administration on Thursday to discuss about the details.
As per reports, special arrangements will be made to regulate traffic congestion. Also, an integrated control room will be operated.
Senior officials will be in charge of pulling of the chariots and cordon duty. Selective police officers will be deployed for crowd control and pulling of chariots in and outside of Srimandira.
A review meeting was held today at the SP office under the chairmanship of ADG (Law & Order), Odisha RK Sharma to discuss Police preparedness during the upcoming Rath Yatra.
The IGs of all the three zones of the State as well as senior Police officials were present in the meeting and discussed about all the angles.
For Rath Yatra, Srimandira premises will be divided into 13 sectors. The ADG Law and order will himself be in charge for the Police security arrangement. Similarly, Central Range IG Narasingh Bhola will be in charge of security inside the temple premises. The IG (Headquarters) Debadutta Singh will be in charge of chariot pulling while STF DIG JN Pankaj will be in charge of cordon.
It was also discussed that special planning will be made for smooth running of the traffic while integrated control room will also operate.
Emphasis will be given to crowd control and smooth conduct of the traffic system during the festival, informed Addl DG.
