Odisha police recovers 32 lakh cash buried underground in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: The Sambalpur police on Wednesday recovered Rs 32 lakh cash buried underground at a house in Banakal village under Riamal block of Deogarh district and arrested three persons including the main accused.

The main accused has been identified as Rakesh Behera.

Report says, the money that was around 39 lakhs which was reportedly stolen from a hotel in Sambalpur-Dhanupali area on April 16 by three unknown miscreants and fled away from the scene.

Later, on basis of hotel’s CCTV footage the Sambalpur police nabbed three accused persons.

Acting on the information shared by the accused, a police team dug out the cash from underground. The cash money were found stuffed in a polythene bag.
