Odisha Police nabs notorious Eragola gang looters in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The notorious Eragola gang members were arrested by the special squad of the Commissionerate Police in Bhubaneswar of Odisha on Wednesday.

According to the reports, the notorious gang is from Andra Pradesh. They mostly target those people who withdraw money from banks.

They were looting people by breaking dickey of two wheelers and glass of cars.

They were also using chemicals for loot. Even at times they used to pose as a constable or a bank employee for loot.

They were committing full proof crimes after preparing blue print for loot.

As per reports, four cases have registered in their name in Kharvel Nagar, Chandrashekarpur and Jatni. Another case has also been registered in Jagatpur of Cuttack.
Commissionerate police have forwarded them to the court following the arrest.

The Police have recovered 2 bikes, diamond ornaments, Rs. 1.5 lakh cash and 12 mobile phones from their possession.

The gang members are aged between 22 to 53 years and they belong to the Eragola tribe.

They are the residents of Nellore of Andra Pradesh and were living on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

According to the reports, they were living in rented houses in the suburban area of the capital city.

Police are trying to find out whether any other persons are also involved with the gang and if cases have been lodged in the name of this group in any other Police Stations, informed Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh.
