Odisha Police gets 4 PLFI members on two-day remand

Jadumani PatraRourkela: The city based Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court on Wednesday allowed the Biramitrapur police to take the four arrested members of Peoples’ Liberation Front of India (PLFI), including former BSF Assistant Commandant Jadumani Patra, on a two-day remand.

Patra allegedly used to train members of the rebel group on the use of sophisticated weapons at different centres of the organisation.

Speaking to Kalinga TV, Sundergarh SP Pinaki Mishra said, “We have requested the BSF authorities to verify the ID card recovered from Jadumani Patra and details of his service record.”

The other arrested PLFI members are Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) employee Manu Kujur, zonal committee member Arjun Rana and area commander Karan Sai.

Biramitrapur police and Kuanrmunda Police recently nabbed as many as 13 members of the PLFI, a splinter group of the Communist party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), after an intensive operation in different parts of Sundargarh district.
