Berhampur: In a bid to curb the large-scale gambling in the city, Town police raided nine gambling dens at different locations of the city and arrested 87 gamblers on Thursday.
Cops also seized Rs 8 lakh from their possession.
Similarly, Paralakhemundi police in Gajapati district nabbed 18 persons and seized Rs 68,000 during a raid on a gambling den in the town today.
Odisha police had also raided different gambling dens in Bhubaneswar, Jeypore, Rourkela and Dhenkanal yesterday and arrested around 30 gamblers, including two government employees and a Councillor of Jeypore.
Police also confiscated around Rs 10 lakhs and a laptop and bikes from the gamblers.
Ms Kalinga
