Odisha Police Contributes Rs 1.61 Crore To CMRF

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police today contributed Rs 1. 61 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to support people affected by the severe cyclone Fani.

Police DG R.P Sharma along with senior officers today handed over the cheque to chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the state secretariat.

Manoj Chhabra, ADGP (SAP), Sanjeeb Panda, ADGP (L&O),Soumendra Priyadarshi, IGP (CR), Sri Amitabh Thakur, IGP (SAP), Yatindra Koyal, IGP SR, Berhampur, A. N. Sinha, DIGP NR, Balasore were also present in the programme.

The police establishments and units which contributed this huge sum included district police organizations of most districts including Balasore, Baragarh, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Gajapati, Odisha State Armed Police and other wings of state police.

Earlier the IPS officers of Odisha had contributed Rs 10000 each towards CMRF for the cyclone affected people of Odisha. The IPS officers had donated Rs 10 lakh on May 10.

Odisha Police have also organized 20  of Karuna Camps (free distribution of cooked foods) in various areas of Puri and have provided cooked food to more than one lakh people.
