Balasore: The Odisha police team has successfully arrested five cyber criminals in connection with an online fraud in Balasore on Monday.
Reportedly, the bank account of a customer, identified as Jyotsna Rani Patra, of IndisInd Bank was hacked, and Rs. 12.45 lakhs was looted on December 29, 2021.
Following the cyber fraud, Jyotsna immediately informed the Nilgiri police and lodged a complaint. On getting the information, a six-member team was formed on the instructions of the Balasore SP to nab the looters.
A month after the complaint was filed, the cyber team of Balasore police arrested the five cyber-criminals including the main accused. The cops have seized Rs 1,69,000 cash, 10 mobile phones, 14 ATM cards of various banks, and 39 SIM cards from their possession.
