Odisha Police and Chhattisgarh Police hold co-operation meeting

Bhubaneswar: A co-operation meeting was organised between Odisha Police and Chhattisgarh Police on Tuesday to discuss working jointly on the Left Wing Extremist (LWE) front and on countering drug trafficking.

DGP Chhattisgarh along with ADGP (Operation), IGP (Intelligence) and IGs of Ranges and also SsPs of Sukma, Bastar, Gariabandh, Dhamtari, Mahasamund and other districts attended from Chhatishgarh.

DGP Odisha along with Director Intelligence, ADGP CIC-CB, IGP (Operation), DIGP STF, DIGP SIW, SsP of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada districts attended the meeting. On LWE matters discussions were held with ADG CRPR. IG CRPF and other CRPF officers also attended the meeting.

The co-ordination meeting was organised to discuss working jointly with more synergy on the LWE front and also on countering drug trafficking.

The two DGPs decided to intensify co-operation between Chhattisgarh Police and Odisha Police. On LWE matters ADGP (Operation), Chhattisgarh and IG Operation Odisha would be the Nodal officers and for NDPS matters DIGP STF, Odisha and DIGP CID-CB, Chhattisgarh dealing with NDPS matter will be Nodal officers.

Other modalities for joint operations and further cooperation were finalized and it was decided to meet again.
