Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission has relaxed COVID restrictions for the upcoming three-tier Panchayat Elections 2022, informed SEC Aditya Prasad Padhi.
Reportedly, the door-to-door campaign will be allowed with 20 persons, including the candidate, instead of five participants.
Adding to it, the public meetings can be organized by the Political Parties/Contesting Candidates with the prior permission of the appropriate authority with a maximum of 300 persons in open ground subject to strict observance of Covid-19 restrictions such as compulsory use of face mask and maintaining social distancing.
The relaxations will come into effect from today, added reports. The SEC decided to relax a few guidelines in relation to the election after reviewing the current Covid situation and trends.
