Kantabanji: A paddy laden truck ran over a youth resulting in his death on Saturday. The truck tumbled after killing the youth. The accident occurred at Kendubahali square on Bangamunda-Sindhakela road here.
Gharua Satnami, the deceased, belonged to Satnami pada in Bangamunda.
As per reports, he was on his way to work to paddy fields when the speeding truck ran over him. He died on the spot and the truck lost control and tumbled into the nearby fields.

Tension gripped the entire area over this unfortunate incident. The locals blocked the Bangamunda-Sindhakela section of NH 42 in demand for compensation for the deceased’s family.
The blockade resulted in a complete jam and rows of vehicles were waiting to pass.
Bangamunda police arrived on the spot. They are in an attempt to negotiate with the protestors and clear the blockade.
