Odisha: Owner Of Steel Company Arrested For Receiving Stolen Pig Iron

Jajpur: Kalinga Nagar police today arrested the owner and manager of a Rourkela based steel company for allegedly receiving stolen pig iron.

Police have also arrested a truck driver for the crime. Police said that two pig iron laden trucks were dispatched to Chhattisgarh from Mesco steel plant in Kalinga Nagar on October 22.

“The market value of the pig iron loaded in both the trucks was worth Rs 13 lakh. Both the truck drivers however unloaded the consignment at a steel company in Rourkela and fled to Punjab. Subsequently the transporting company lodged a police complaint,” said a police official.

Police later traced the mobile phone of one of the truck driver identified as Sarabjit Singh and managed to nab him from Punjab. Police have also seized the truck. Police said that they are also trying to nab the second truck driver involved in the crime.
