Odisha: Nominations filed for Students’ Union Polls 

Bhubaneswar: Amid reports of pre-poll violence at several places in Odisha, the aspiring candidates filed their nominations papers in various colleges and universities on Wednesday.

The candidates filed the nomination papers between 9 AM and 12 noon today.

The nomination papers will be verified between 2 PM and 4 PM. The list of eligible candidates will be released at 11 AM on October 4.

The candidates can withdraw nominations between 2 PM and 4 PM on Thursday, while the final list of candidates will be out at 5 PM on same day.

The ‘Why I stand for’ meeting will be held on October 10 and voting for students’ union elections will be conducted on next day.

The oath taking ceremony of the winning candidates will be held on October 12.

Meanwhile, authorities have cancelled the students’ union polls in three universities including Ravenshaw university in Cuttack and over dozen og colleges across the State due to violence on their respective campus.
