Balasore: In a shocking incident, a newly-wed couple allegedly attempted to commit suicide, which led to the death of the wife while her husband is now battling for life in Odisha’s Balasore district.
One Kailash Jena, a native of Raintara in Balasore, had married to Pooja Jena of Soro a month back. However, there was some misunderstanding between them for some unknown reasons which is why they used to fight continuously.
Their fights over marital disputes turned tragic as Pooja ended her life by hanging herself in the house while Kailash touched a live electric transformer.
While Pooja died on the spot, Kailash was rescued in a critical condition and was rushed to the hospital. Currently, he is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhadrak.
The local police is said to have started a probe into the incident.
