Sambalpur: Hundreds of passengers travelling in Ahmedabad-Puri Express had a narrow escape after the brakes of the train caught fire between Maneswar and City Railway Station in Sambalpur late last night.
Passengers first noticed smoke from the wheels and immediately stopped the train by chain pulling. They also alerted the officials which rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The railway officials also conducted a thorough inspection of the wheels. The train finally departed towards the destination after a delay.
