Malkangiri: A group of CRPF Cobra jawans escaped a blast of a landmine planted by Maoists in Malkangiri district on Tuesday.
The Maoist operations were foiled by the jawans in the Minapa Jungle of Chhattisgarh, bordering Malkangiri district. when the Cobra jawans were on their way for combing operation in the area.
Sources said, the Maoists had planted more than 10 kg landmine in the jungle as they targeted the jawans who were on operation.
Meanwhile, the CRPF Cobra Jawan of 206 Battalion recovered the landmine with the help of the metal detector and destroyed it by exploding it.
The search operations have been intensified by the police after the detection of the landmines.
