Odisha Municipal Election Results 2022: BJD sweeps in 9 wards of BMC

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has swept polls in nine wards of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). The results of the Corporator seats have been counted successfully in 11 wards of Bhubaneswar till now.

Reportedly, out of 11 wards, Independent candidate Bandita Pal has won in Ward 37 while BJP candidate Gitanjali Sahu has won in Ward 39.

Following are the winning BJD candidates:

  • Mihir Raut in Ward 1
  • Monalisa Behera in Ward 2
  • Preetinanda Rautaray in Ward 6
  • Bharati Singh in Ward 26
  • Ranjulata Roy in Ward 35
  • Ali Ali Malik in Ward 36
  • Padmaja Priyadarshini Jena in Ward 38
  • Aashiya Begum in Ward 40
  • Kavita Swayamsevak in Ward 41

The vote counting is still underway at other wards. As per the State Election Commission, 65 percent of voters turned out to cast their franchise and decide the fate of 6411 candidates.
