Odisha: More than 50 quintals adulterated pulses seized during raid in Cuttack Malgodown

Cuttack: More than 50 quintals of adulterated pulses were seized during a series of raids conducted by the Health wing of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) and Commissionerate Police at the Malgodown of Cuttack in Odisha on Wednesday. Two illegal traders have been detained in this connection.

As per reports, Commissionerate Police and CMC conducted raids at three pulses godowns in Malgodown area of Cuttack and seized more than 50 quintals of adulterated pulses.

It had been complained that adulteration of Khesari Dal with Arhar Dal was going on there. Police have said that Khesari dal has been banned as food. Health officials have said that consumption of Khesari dal leads to many critical health issues.

The seized pulses have been sent to the laboratory for test.

On the other hand, the traders have denied the allegation.
