Odisha MLAs seek arrest of Abhijit Iyer Mitra for his remarks on Konark Sun Temple
Bhubaneswar: The ruling BJD MLAs and Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra on Tuesday sought action against Abhijit Iyer Mitra, a journalist and a friend of former Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, for his derogatory remark on the Sun Temple at Konark in Odisha.
In the zero hour of Odisha Assembly today, Mishra vehemently criticised Abhijit’s remark on the world famous Konark Sun Temple. He urged the State government to investigate the matter and take appropriate action against the journalist.
The ruling BJD MLAs also staged a dharna near the Mahatma Gandhi statue inside the Assembly to press their demand to arrest of Abhijit for uploading his derogatory statement and the video on the social media.
on September 16, Abhijit had posted a video on Twitter making remarks on the Sun Temple in Konark while being present at the spot.
