Odisha MLA Walks for Hours To Reach An Inaccessible Village

Rayagada: BJD legislator from Gunupur, Raghunath Gomango walked around four kilometres to reach an inaccessible village in his constituency. The effort of the local legislator was hailed by the people of the Kondabaridi village under Ramanguda block.

Gomango who was elected to the assembly for the first time took the hilly road along with his supporters to reach the village which used to be a Maoist infested village. The MLA also assured the villagers to construct a road to the village.

“We have never seen our MLA for many decades and this was perhaps the first visit of any legislator to our village after independence. He patiently heard our problems and assured senior citizens to include their names in the list of old age pension beneficiaries,’ said a villager.

Gomango had joined the ruling party after taking VRS from Government service. A native of MK Rai village in Gudari block of Rayagada district, Gomango was the Civil Supply Officer of Gajapati district.

“He had joined the BJD with a promise to provide basic amenities to the people in his constituency. He will continue to reach every village to solve the problems of people,” said a supporter of Gomango.
