Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday appointed Jagatsinghpur MLA Prasant Muduli as government chief whip. The Parliamentary Affairs Department of the Odisha Government has issued a notification in this regard.
Patnaik appointed Prasant Muduli as government chief whip for the 16th Odisha Legislative Assembly with immediate effect until further orders.
Muduli has been appointed in place of Pramila Mallick, whom the Chief Minister gave the portfolio of Revenue & Disaster Management Department today.
Prasant Muduli, the advocate-turned politician, who is a native of Titira village in Borikina area, is also the Jagatsinghpur district president of BJD.
