Odisha: Miscreants loot cash from petrol pump staff at gunpoint in Soro

Balasore: Some unidentified miscreants allegedly looted cash from employees of a petrol pump at gunpoint in Odisha’s Balasore district.

According to reports, two armed miscreants allegedly barged into the office room of Mahavir Petro Pump on NH-16 near Uttareswar of the district at around 11.30 PM yesterday, threatened and manhandled the staff of the fuel station before looting more than Rs 30,000 from them at gunpoint.

The employees of the petrol pump could not recognize the miscreants as the latter had covered their faces with cloths.

The CCTV cameras installed at the filling station have captured the robbery of the money. In the footage, it can be seen that two persons, one in a white shirt and another in a red shirt, threatening an employee of the petrol pump and taking away cash from him forcefully at gunpoint.

Soro police reached the spot after getting information from the petrol pump employees and started an investigation into the matter, said sources.

The cops are verifying the footage of the CCTV cameras installed at the fuel station, added the sources.
