Odisha: Minor tribal girl raped in bus in Puri

Puri: In an extremely distressing incident, a minor tribal girl was raped in a bus here late Monday night. The accused bus helper has been arrested by Puri police.

As per reports, the 15-year-old victim hails from Keonjhar and worked at Malatipatapur.

She was coming from her home and was on her way for Malatipatapur.  But she dozed off and missed her drop point. When she woke up the bus was empty and at Puri bus stand. The driver and helper of the bus convinced her to sleep on the bus and leave for Malatipatapur in the morning.

Taking advantage of the situation, the helper raped the minor tribal girl. Locals found the girl crying near Gundicha Temple and immediately informed the police.

Police sprang into action and arrested the accused bus helper. An investigation is underway.
