Puri: The body of a minor girl was found floating in Devi River near Bauriakana village under Kakatpur police limits in Odisha’s Puri district on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rubi Sethi of the village. She was studying in Class VII at a school in Bauriakana.
According to reports, Ruby was missing since last evening and a missing report was lodged at a local police station in this connection.
Locals spotted the body floating on shore of the river near the village this morning. They immediately informed the family members and police.
Kakatpur police reached the spot and recovered the body from the river water.
Though the reason behind her death is yet to be ascertained, family members have alleged that the girl might have killed and thrown to the river water.
“The body was sent to a hospital for autopsy test. We will look into the case in all angles- suicide, murder, drowning or others. Probe is underway,” police said.
