Odisha: Mini-Truck accident on Phulnakhra leaves one injured

Cuttack: Driver of one of the mini-trucks was grievously injured when two mini-truck met an accident on NH 17 near Decathlon showroom at Phulnakhra overbridge under Cuttack Sadar police limits on late Friday night.

As per reports, one mini-truck bearing number OD 02 6947 plying from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar applied a sudden brake on Phulnakhra overbridge. Another mini-truck bearing number TN 34 K1978 was coming from Andhra, which was right behind, hit the former. The driver and helper of the Odisha mini-truck fled the scene post-accident.

The Tamil Nadu truck lost control and hit the divider. The driver was reported to be grievously injured and stuck inside the mini-truck.

Locals rushed to help him but in vain. They also alleged inaction on part of Cuttack Sadar police while the helpless driver was stuck in the truck.

Finally, two hours after the accident the injured was removed from the mini-truck and shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack for treatment.

The accident snare also resulted in the NH getting blocked and a row of vehicles on either side of the road. It took a few hours for the area to be cleared.
