Cuttack: Taking serious note of the Matric question paper viral on social media, Odisha Crime Branch began a probe into the incident on Monday.

According to sources, a two-member team of Crime Branch Cyber Cell visited the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) office today and held a discussion about the matter with the BSE officials for three hours.

The Crime Branch Cyber Cell officials questioned the board officials on how the question paper went viral, how did they (BSE officials) came to know about the matter and how the media got the photographs of the question paper, added the sources.

The BSE officials had sought the help of the Crime Branch officials after photographs of first language (MIL) and English question papers went viral on WhatsApp while the examination was underway on February 23 and February 26 respectively.

However, School and Mass Education Minister Badri Nayan Patra ruled out question paper leak after conducting a preliminary inquiry.

A day after the incident, the BSE issued a fresh order directing the District Education Officers (DEOs) to ensure stricter enforcement of the ban on entry of mobile phones into examination halls during the ongoing annual HSC examination.
