Odisha Matric Exam-2018: Chief Secy directs to check malpractices

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi on Thursday directed all the district collectors and SPs to check malpractices during the High School Certificate Examinations-2018 (HSCE) this year.

While chairing a high-level preparatory meeting with the collectors and SPs though video conferencing at the state Secretariat, Padhi also directed to take all steps to conduct the exam peacefully.

The Chief Secretary asked Bargarh district administration to be vigilant as the Bijepur by-polls is slated to be held on February 24.

Sources said that three-tier squad has been formed to check the malpractices. While 35 teams have been formed in the Board level, 58 teams have been constituted in the district level. Squads also have been formed in the government level to curb copy during the exam, added the sources.

As many as 5,90,330 examinees are slated to appear the annual tenth exam, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE). The exam will begin from February 23 and will continue till March 8.

All the exams will be held between 9 AM and 11.30 AM. However, extra 15 minutes will be allotted for the mathematics paper. The board has decided to include 100 more exam centres this year to the existing number of centres.

The hard copies of admit cards will be sent to the examination centres by February 17 while the online admit cards are available on board’s website – www.bseodisha.ac.in.
