Odisha Matric Exam-2018: 13 Prisoners to appear exam in 7 jails

Bhubaneswar: As many as 13 prisoners will appear the annual High School Certificate Examinations (HSCE)-2018 beginning tomorrow along with 6,08,018 examinees.

“Total 6,08,031 examinees will take the crucial examinations this time at 2966 centres while 13 prisoners will appear at the special centres made by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in 7 jails across the state,” informed School and Mass Education Minister Badri Narayan Patra while briefing the newsmen at the State Secretariat here today.

“As many as 58 flying squads and 37 BSE’s flying squads have been set up to prevent malpractices during the exam. Also district and zone squads have been set up for the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations,” he added.

Notably, the BSE has also included 100 lecturers form different colleges in the squad teams to curb malpractices during tenth exam.

Meanwhile, question papers from the nodal centres have been sent to the respective exam centres across the state. Security also have been beefed-up in the Maoists affected districts to conduct the exam peacefully.

The schedule is : Odia ( Feb 23), English (Feb 26), Hindi/ Sanskrit (Feb 28), Math (Mar 3), General Science (Mar 6), Social Sciences (Mar 8).
