Jajpur: In a tragic incident, a man was killed while trying to save a victim of road on National Highway 53 near Baghua in the district today.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar Behera, a resident of Kabatabandha. As per reports, Behera who was travelling on his motorcycle stopped after he saw a road accident victim lying on the road.
“He parked his vehicle and went to the victim and even called the ambulance from his mobile. In the meantime another truck hit him and sped away,” said an eyewitness.
Behera with multiple injuries was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital where he was declared received dead. A pal of gloom descended on the village of the deceased following the tragic incident.
