Khordha: A man allegedly slit his wife’s throat with a sharp weapon at Patitapaban sahi in Gurujanga area of Khordha district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Indira Priyadarshini Mohanty (37).
Sources say, an argument erupted between Indira and her husband Kartik Chandra Pradhan. In a fit of rage, Kartik took a sharp weapon and slit her throat and fled from the scene.
In 2005, Kartik and Indira had a love marriage and they have a 15-year old son.
In 17 years of marriage, there was lot of disturbance between the duo. She was adjusting all her life. Kartik is a psycho patient and use to create lot a problems for Indira. At around 11 pm Indira called up and asked me to come back home, but informed that i am on duty. Later at around 2.30 am, i got an information, Kartik had killed her and was absconding. When i reached home, found her lying in a pool of blood and was dead, said Kailash Harichandan, Indira’s maternal uncle.
Later, based on Indira’s uncle complaint, Police have reached the spot and have started a probe into the matter.
The police have launched a manhunt to trace the absconding husband.
