Dhenkanal: A man was allegedly shot dead by some miscreants at Kandhapal village under Sadar police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The deceased has been identified as Dalei Nayak (56), a resident of the same village.
Sources says, Dalei was sitting on his verandah when some unknown miscreants fired at him. The incident took place at 7 in the morning. He has sustained bullet injuries on chest and stomach.
He was immediately rushed to Dhenkanal district headquarters hospital in a critical condition, where the doctors declared him dead.
It is suspected that he was shot due to some past enmity.
On being informed about the incident, the local police reached the spot and have started a probe into the matter.
