Bhawanipatna: Apart from the two accused nobody else is involved in the murder of Mahaling Sunshine Public School teacher Mamita Meher, said Odisha’s Northern Range DIG Deepak Kumar in a presser on Saturday.

He also said that Mamita Meher had not visited Raipur as was discussed earlier. Police are investigating the case in details. The 161 statement of at least 10 witnesses have been recorded. The probe is going on with the help of the technical team. He also refuted the allegation that the matter reached Court late and claimed it to be baseless.

The matter had been complained on October 13 and the same day it was referred to the Court. It was presented at the Court of the Magistrate on Oct 16. The main accused persons of the case, Govinda Sahu and Radheshyam Chandi are in jail, he said.

It is pertinent to mention that Mamita’s family members have alleged that Sahu was sexually harassing women employees of the school and forcing them to have physical relation with him. She was asked by Govinda to reach Sunshine Public School for a meeting following she went missing. Her family lodged a complaint with the police against Govinda and he was detained by the police for questioning.
