Malkangiri: A senior clerk in the Malkangiri welfare department identified as Laxmipriya Behera, has been fired for allegedly giving fake caste certificates.
Lakshmipriya belonged to the SEBC category and had been working for a long time for 29 years with tribal certificates. The Department of Tribal Development investigated the matter after it was reported to the RDC.
He was fired after the allegations were substantiated. She was also told to return all the money she had earned during his tenure. The eviction notice was issued in front of Lakshmipriya’s official residence.
The administration, on the other hand, has issued a notice to the then Junagadh tehsildar on the basis on which he gave tribal certificates to Lakshmipriya.
