Odisha: Kendrapara Co-Operative Society President Detained Over Sexual Harassment

Kendrapara:  Odisha Police on Sunday night detained Kendrapara Co-Operative Society president Pramod Kumar Sahu on charges of sexual harassment.

Sources said, a police team led by Additional SP B Gagarin Mohanty picked Sahu from his Baniamal-based residence at around 11.30 PM on Sunday and brought him to the Town Police Station here.

On Monday morning, Sahu was taken to the District Headquarter Hospital here for his medical test. He is likely to be produced before the court today.

On April 30, 2019, a lady employee of the cooperative society had had approached the Town Police lodging complaint of sexual harassment by Sahu. However, the police allegedly denied to file a case against the Co-Operative Society president.

Later, the complainant moved the sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) court that directed Kendrapara Town Police to register a case in this connection.
