Keonjhar: An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Odisha Police was killed in a road accident near Jhumpura bypass on NH– 20 in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Saturday.
The deceased ASI has been identified as Morris Kujur, posted at Jhumpura Police Station.
Sources said, the mishap occurred when Kujur was on his way to the police station on his motorcycle this morning. A speeding Bolero SUV hit his bike and the police officer fell unconscious .
On being informed, police reached the spot and took Kujur to Jhumpura Hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead.
A case has been registered with Jhumpura Police Station in this connection and investigation is on , police said.
