Odisha; Jagannath Temple In Puri To Remain Closed On All Sundays

Puri: The Jagannath temple in Puri will be closed on all Sundays keeping in view the recent surge in Covid positives in Odisha.

It has been proposed by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) today to restrict the entry of devotees inside the Srimandir on Sunday for sanitization.

According to reports, the final decision regarding the closure of the temple for a day has been taken by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

At the meeting, the SJTA gave permission for holding of rituals of Dolapurnima Suna Besha on March 28 in an organized manner and following strict Covid regulations.

The temple authorities have requested the devotees to maintain proper social distancing during darshan and rituals in the temple.

The Bhoi and Maharana sevayats will be vaccinated before they get engaged into chariot construction for Rath Yatra in July.
