Odisha invites fresh bids for 20 mines

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday issued a fresh notification inviting tender for electronic auction of 20 mines, lease period of which would end on March 31, 2020.

The government had annulled the tender process for these blocks recently due to technical errors. It had called tenders in October this year.

The steel and mines department has issued a fresh notification by incorporating new conditions in the tender document.

The government has invited tender for 12 mineral blocks of iron ore, two manganese blocks and six iron ore and manganese blocks, according to the notification.

The last date for purchase of tender document is December 30 and the last date for submission of the bid is January 3, 2020, the notification said.

Recently, the state government cancelled the bidding notification after meetings of the technical evaluation committee and the high-level committee held on November 30.

The government had detected that both subsidiaries and the holding companies had applied for the same resources in gross violation of the Mining Tender Act.

Now, a bidder shall submit only one bid for a particular mineral block.
