Odisha: Intense heat wave to continue for next three days

Bhubaneswar: The Met department on Saturday said that the prevailing intense heat wave condition will continue in Odisha for the next three to four days.

The State continued to reel under intense heat wave with 15 places recording over 40 degree Celsius today.

Mercury rose to 45.8 degree Celsius in Titilagarh followed by 45.5 degree Celsius in Balangir and 44.6 in Sambalpur today. Most of the Western Odisha towns have crossed 43 degrees Celsius.

The capital city Bhubaneswar sizzled at 38 degree Celsius while Cuttack registered 39 degree Celsius.

Normal life across the state, particularly in western districts, has been severely affected due to the intense heat wave condition.

According to sources, at least 3 people have reportedly lost their lives due to sunstroke in different places of the State so far.
